Description of Research Interests
Wideband measurement and analysis of the dynamic properties of magnetic fluids and nano-particle systems. Magnetic and dielectric measurements. Magnetic composites.Relaxation and Resonance processes.Surface effects in nano-particles. Stochastic resonance, Signal to Noise Ratio , Non-linear response of magnetic fluids. Prof. Fannin cooperates with many research groups in the magnetic fluid area, including groups from Australia, Checz- Republic, England, France, Germany, Lithuania , Mexico, Norway, Poland, Rumania, Slovakia, Russian Federation and the United States. He is also actively involved as a member of a European research group dealing with "Gravitational Phenomena in Magnetic Fluids". This is a European Space Agency project and his role includes pre and after flight characterisation of magnetic fluids which are to be used in a programme of experiments in space.
