Description of Research Interests
Automated control and management of microbial biofilms in water systems linked to medical devices. Automated microbial biofilm management in large water distribution systems in healthcare facilities. Molecular epidemiology and population structure of hospital-acquired and community acquired MRSA. Molecular analysis of SCCmec elements in pandemic, epidemic and sporadic MRSA and MSSA. Molecular epidemiology, population structure, antifungal drug resistance mechanisms in Candida dubliniensis and other oral Candida species. Management of Legionella bacteria in water distribution systems Application of electrochemically activated solutions to control microbial proliferation in the environment, in water distribution systems and in medical devices.
