My principal field of interest is in the philosophy of education with particular regard to the connection between education and self-formation and the nature and status of knowledge in educational research. A second focus of interest is the area of the ethics of teaching and learning. I belong to the Cultures, Academic Values and Education research centre in the School of Education which has developed a collaborative research agenda in the field of higher education for the coming years.
