As a historian of modern architecture, I study the interplay between politics and architecture, or how political factors influence the built environment. In particular, I explore nationalism, fascism, and memory in modern Europe. Having grown up in Italy with Irish parents, I studied for a BA at TCD, before completing a PhD at the University of Cambridge (2013). Prior to returning to TCD in 2024, I worked at the University of Cambridge, the Free University Berlin, the University of Groningen, the British School at Rome, and the Max Planck Institute in Berlin.
