Lanyards had a mean age of 22 months and hygiene was poor with only 9% ever having been laundered. Molecular analysis showed that 26% of S. aureus nasal carriers shared an indistinguishable strain on their lanyard. Lanyards should not be recommended for staff in frontline clinical care.], Journal Article, PUBLISHED

My research interests include: - the epidemiology of gram negative resistance particularly Carbapenemase producing Enterobacterales (CPE) and Extended spectrum beta-lactamase producers (ESBLs) - The treatment of urinary tract infections caused by resistant Enterobacterales. - Treatment of Staphylococcus aureus infections particularly infections of bone. - Interested in examining the infection prevention benefits of IT solutions such as ICNet for infection prevention and in surgical site infection surveillance. - The epidemiology and infection prevention implications of SARS CoV2 reinfections. - Currently examining requirements to commence on-site genome sequencing for better epidemiological understanding of both SARS CoV2 and CPE outbreaks.
