Dr. Yvonne Codd

Research Fellow (Occupational Therapy)

 


Yvonne holds a PhD., an MSc. and BSc Cur Occ (Hons) awarded by Trinity College Dublin. Yvonne is interested in the impact of rheumatology conditions on occupational identity and occupational adaptation. She is particularly interested in understanding and supporting participation and engagement in life roles across a range of chronic rheumatology conditions through occupation-focused interventions. Yvonne has extensive experience in clinical rheumatology, vocational rehabilitation, service development and clinical research and she continues to work part-time in this clinical area. Yvonne represents Occupational Therapy on the HSE Scheduled Care & Transformation rheumatology workstream and on the National Clinical Programme for Rheumatology. Yvonne is also a member of the EULAR HPR Work Rehabilitation Study Group. She is currently employed part-time as a researcher on a CHITIN funded research project, the REfLECTS Study, which is a randomized control trial of mirror box therapy in upper limb rehabilitation with sub-acute stroke patients (Principal Investigator: Dr Tadhg Stapleton).

Current Occupational Therapy Lead on the National Clinical Program (Rheumatology). This role involves progressing the development of rheumatology occupational therapy services and staffing. 2017-present
Occupational Therapy representative on the HSE Scheduled Care and Transformation rheumatology workstream tasked with reviewing current rheumatology pathways and designing and scoping revised pathways in a 'what good looks like' approach including appropriate workforce planning. March 2021-present
