Ciaran Simms, BA, BAI, PhD, FTCD, MIEI is Professor in Biomechanics and previous Head of Discipline in the Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing and Biomedical Engineering at Trinity College Dublin. He is a Principal Investigator in the Centre for Bioengineering at Trinity College Dublin and also a Fellow of Trinity College Dublin. He was President of the International Research Council on Biomechanics of Injury until 2018 and remains on the Scientific Review Committee and was the Soft Tissue Editor for the Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials from 2007-2018 and remains on the Editorial Board. Prior to working at Trinity College Dublin he held research engineer positions with TNO Automotive in Delft and Detroit and with Denis Wood Associates in Dublin. He is co-founder of sports technology company KineMo (www.kine-mo.com).
