Dr. Amir Pakdel is a transdisciplinary nanomaterials scientist and nanotechnologist, an assistant professor and a research group leader at Trinity College Dublin's Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing & Biomedical Engineering. He has previously worked in University College Dublin's School of Chemistry (Ireland), Trinity College Dublin's Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanostructures and Nanodevices (CRANN; Ireland), National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS; Japan), and World Premier International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (WPI-MANA; Japan). He has investigated diverse and crossdisciplinary research topics, including: ● Thermal energy harvesting and storage ● Flexible, wearable, and printable electronics ● Nanomaterials synthesis and characterization (especial interest in electron microscopy & spectroscopy techniques) ● Metal- ceramic- and polymer-matrix composites ● Functional and hierarchical surfaces ● Surface wetting ● Sustainability Amir has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, and is an editorial board member of Frontiers in Chemistry, MDPI Energies, AIMS Materials Science, and a guest editor in MDPI Molecules and MDPI Catalysts.
