Biography
Mona O’Moore graduated from Trinity College, Dublin gaining her M.A in Child and Educational Psychology from the University of Nottingham and her Ph.D from Edinburgh University, and is a Fellow of Trinity College. Professor O’Moore is currently the Head of the Department of Education at Trinity College Dublin. She is also the founder and co-ordinator of the Anti-Bullying Research and Resource Unit. She was the Rapporteur of the first European seminar on school bullying, writing up the Report for the Council of Europe, 1987. She was a member of the Ministerial working party which drew up the National Guidelines in Countering Bullying in Primary and Post Primary Schools in Ireland in 1993. Since then she conducted the first Nationwide Study of School bullying and Workplace bullying in Ireland. She has been a member of five European research partnerships and is currently a member of the European V.I.S.T.A project aiming to provide training on school violence to policy makers and practitioners. She is regularly invited to contribute to seminars and conferences, in Ireland and abroad. She has published widely, in particular in the area of school bullying. She is co-author of the forthcoming handbook : Dealing with Bullying In Schools: A Training Manual for Teachers, Parents and Other Professionals (Paul Chapman Publishing). She is married with three sons.

Project title	Cyber-Bullying:Coping with Negative and Enhancing Positive Uses of New Technologies,in Relationships in Educational Settings
Summary	The Cost Action aims at sharing expertise in cyber-bullying in educational settings,and coping with negative and enhancing positive uses of new technologies.This will be done across a wide range of Cost Countries. The scientific workplan will involve working groups,workshops and a final conference.

Project title	VISTOP(Violence in Schools training online project)
Summary	Vistop aimed at developing an online course that introduces teachers, head teachers, policy-makers, parents and other school staff to the topic of school bullying and violence (SBV). The online course will be made available in two alternative vesions: one moderated online course that will be fully accompanied by a tutor and one self-guided online course that can be completed independently.

Project title	VISTA (Violence in Schools Training Action)
Summary	The project aimed to provide training resources, geared principally at school policy makers, to help prevent and counter violence in schools Europe-wide. The project saw participation from six country teams (Belgium, Bulgaria, Ireland, Norway, Spain, UK) under the co-ordination of Professor Helen Cowie (UK). The country teams came from a variety of disciplines: criminology, education, law, psychology. Outputs included a web resource (www.vista-europe.org).

Project title	Democratic Schools Without Violence
Summary	The aim of the project is to deliver the European Charter for Democratic Schools Without Violence in schools through CLUSTERS made up of schools and teacher training centres in each participating country supported by best practice and knowledge from leading associate partners in the field of EDC and violence reduction.
