I was awarded an International Instructor Certificate in Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS), by the Society of Critical Care Medicine, for training, instructing and educating healthcare professionals in optimal intensive care management of critically ill patients 2002
I was the first Irish Respiratory Trainee to be awarded a prestigious European Respiratory Society Training & Research Fellowship to train & do research in the Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London 2002 - 2003
I was awarded an instructor Certificate in Acute Life-threatening Events Recognition & Treatment (ALERT) Ireland, for training healthcare professionals in Ireland in how to recognise clinical parameters in deteriorating hospitalised patients in Ireland 2003
I was privileged to be awarded 2 Clinical Excellence Awards, from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, for establishing and running an acute & domicilary non-invasive respiratory ventilation support unit, and a respiratory sleep disorders unit 2007
I was honoured to be awarded the National Delegate of Ireland, as the Irish Thoracic Society Representative to the European Respiratory Society, at the biannual Forum of European Respiratory Societies 2009 - 2012
