Biography
Since 2007, holds the position of Professor of Children's Nursing in the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. My research programme focuses on two key strands: children and young people's participation in matters that affect their lives; and longterm illness management for young people. I have published more than 80 peer reviewed papers and co -authored 2 nursing text books. I have co-authored over 150 conference abstracts for oral and poster presentation. I have been invited as a speaker to several international scientific conferences and workshops. I have a strong record of participation in a range of research networks and collaborations. Member of the Working Party on children and clinical research. Nuffield Council on Bioethics and Ambassador for Participation Hub in Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA). I am a member of the European Academy of Nursing Science (EANS) board and three editorial boards: Journal of Clinical Nursing; Nursing Children and Young People; and Nursing & Health Sciences. I am a reviewer for 19 peer reviewed medical, nursing, psychology journals.
