Project Title
Eye-D: Therapeutic target identification for degenerative eye disease
From
1/11/2021
To
31/10/2025
Summary
This project is focused on identifying the molecular cause of blindness including age related macular degeneration (AMD), glaucoma and inherited retinal diseases. It is an industry academic consortium and involves collaboration with Roche, Eli Lilly and Progressive Vision as well as a collaboration with the Irish charity Fighting Blindness Ireland.

Project Title
Retina Rhythm:Investigating the role of the inner retina in age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
From
1/7/2020
To
30/6/2025
Summary
This is an ERC project focused on identifying the earliest causes of age related macular degeneration (AMD). The central hypothesis is that AMD is driven by a dysfunction of blood vessels in the inner retina and that regulating the integrity of these vessels may stabilise the condition.
