I am a health economist focusing on applied health systems research, including evaluation of palliative care interventions across various healthcare settings and the affordability of healthcare for households in Ireland. I have experience in engagement with health policy makers in Ireland throughout the Health Service Executive, the Department of Health and the government. In addition to my research on palliative care in Ireland, I have also collaborated on studies in the UK, US and Jordan.

Summary
The aim of this research programme is to inform development of a costed model for the provision of out-of-hours (OOH) community-based specialist palliative care in Ireland. This aim is achieved by addressing the following research objectives: 1. To systematically identify and synthesise the evidence on the components, outcomes and economic evaluation of community-based `out-of-hours" care. 2. To describe how OOH community-based specialist palliative care in Ireland is currently organised and delivered. 3. To identify stakeholders" views on the delivery of OOH community-based specialist palliative care. 4. To develop consensus on recommendations to inform development and implementation of the model of OOH community-based specialist palliative care. 5. To estimate the costs associated with proposed models for providing OOH community-based palliative care services. The key output of this research programme is a final report offering multi-perspective insights into service delivery and recommendations on the next steps and future priorities.
