My research in the psychology of language and communication consists of the following interlinked strands: (1) the psychosocial aspects of speech, language, communication and swallowing and (2) multilingual education and wellbeing. I have published on these topics in peer reviewed international journals and my research is internationally recognised. The outcomes of my research have shaped education policy and service provision and they have contributed to wider academic debates and practical improvements in educational and healthcare settings in Ireland and internationally.
