Dr. Elaine Laing

Assistant Professor (Trinity Business School)

Dr. Laing obtained her Ph.D. degree from University College Dublin, Ireland, examining the foreign exchange exposure, multinationality and corporate governance of U.S firms. Whilst completing her doctorate, she was a visiting scholar in the HEC, Paris. Her principle research interests have focused on risk management, international finance and corporate governance. Elaine has been awarded several competitive grants for her research including the grant scheme from the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ). She has recently returned from Australia where she was a lecturer in finance at the Department of Economics and Finance, Curtin University. Previously, Elaine worked in Ireland, Hong Kong and Singapore lecturing courses including international financial management, corporate financial management, mergers and acquisitions, financial principles and analysis, capital markets and investments, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She has participated and presented her research in a number of international conferences including the International Finance and Banking Society, Asian Finance Association (AsianFA), Australasian Banking and Finance, Financial Markets and Corporate Governance, Academy of International Business, Global Finance Academy, Universitas 21 and INFINITI Conference.
